We have just have had a great deligation of young people with their key (carers) workers down, to explore what they would like to get from the time machine. They all seemed to be desparate to grow stuff, to care for it and for us to show them how they can enrich the process by monitoring the beauty of the national world. Time and growth and environmental implecations part of the strong value system we want to support.

The where also very keen to meet OHenry.

I hope that we might be allowed to extend the project to a couple of well choosen mammals. With the obvious in the surrounding area, this might be one way forward, to encourage understanding and promote local farming and produce.

It was fanstastic to hear this from the young people and for this project to mature.

Its Time Academy

The ReclaimFun project has two levels:

Tranforming (TRANFORM = TRASH and FORM) Academy, aimed upto the age of 12.
Its Time Academy, aimed at above 12 years old

Its all part of the same program to ReclaimFun, shake the science and engineering out of the box and to reuse and or recycle.

A special tool kit, which once tasks are proformed, is developed and tailored to the individual member of the Academies. We are currently short listing tool manufacturers and distributors. If you want to go on the short list please contact us www.reclaimfun.com .

Its powerful stuff;

1) You learn about how the technology works, why it went wrong and what to look for in new systems. This way students can make valued purchases.

2) You find out how much effort goes into making stuff.

3) You find out there are useful bits in the items and how much can be recycled.

Old Railway sets

Desparate for old railway sets. Get up into the loft, we will dust off and grab the old toy that does not get used. We need track systems to show the concept of orbits.

Desparate for some folding tables. % in total to cater for 15 students. A comprehensive list will be given soon, for all the project requirements. What will happen, as the projects start we will set up spur bloggers, Britains Most Wanted, also procedures when you goto the Refusage sites to ensure 'ReclaimFun' project is successful. This will soon include all charity shops.

Now you know what it is what do we need? The fuel of the project is small producs that can be taken apart and explored. If you have larger items please inform us, we would not turn down concord, rent the water board field, and break her apart to show young people whats inside the box. We are currently talking to a hospital who has an old scanner. The hall is large enough for this to be taken apart and explored.

We have a high turn over of young people at the centre and hence need loads of box's to break open and explore.

How can you help. Get rid of the clutter, dont take it to the dump, let us digest it and we will then give it to recycle agents, all sorted, Simples!

Items include:

1) desparate for model railway and scaletrics, this is not part of the transforming program, but 'mass in motion'. We need track and vehicles that can be transformed to push different mass systems (pendulums, small mechaical systems).
2) old video cameras, broken digital or out of fashion cameras.
3) metal detectors
4) old alarm systems
5) old cttv security systems (not the VDU monitors please)
6) Old battery powered tools, we are after anything with small motors in them.
7) Old mechanical cameras and cinematic film projectors
8) old record players
9) old clocks and wind up mechanisms
10) Quarts clock movements

Tranform (Trash & Form) Academy

Shaking the science out of the box. How things work and why, is at the very heart of what drives us all to use the little grey cells and make sence of all we see and experience.

This program is about getting small interesting items and taking them apart. We then go on a journey of discovery to find out what the bits in the box do, why the box became redundant, would would be good to put in a new box (product), ho much stuff goes into the box, how hard it is to recycle.

That simple journey, has some big milestones:

1) The importance of science and engineering, appreciation of what goes into making a box. The value of careers in science and engineering.

2) Appreciation of the box, that it can be repaired or bits of it can be reused. That throwing it away when it works, is wasting what you can do. That if you keep using it, you can still do what you want and still have the cash to do other things.

3) If it has become un fashionable, steam punk it. There is no real intelligence in spending more money, you put no design input into designer cloths and product, why not put your own creativity in it and 'retro or steam punk it'. Or keep it still working, but design a cover that takes it into the year 3010, not 2010.

4) That a lot goes into a product and that to recyles it takes a lot of effort and it gets land filled instead. At the end of every transforming session, the bits we dont use get put in special bins for recycleing. Whole units (i.e. with mobile phones) or parts might be given to third world counctries, not fortunate enough to waste these items.
